Yves Saint Laurent Paris?

So yesterday..

I read an article about the new YSL logo. But did you guys know that’s not the only thing on the "to change list"?

Come fall, Yves Saint Laurent will do away with the most unpronounceable part of their name, droping Yves for the ready-to-wear collection and renaming itself Saint Laurent Paris.

Under the new directorship of Hedi Slimane Yves Saint Laurent will be put through various adjustments.

And although the famous signature will remain unaltered on handbags, lipsticks and shoes, there is no certainty that it will continue to be used as widely.

I personally don’t think this is the best idea, I mean, change is definitely good, but if Cassandre’s creation is the distinctive symbol of the house, why removing it? Maybe enhacing it, but just washing it away? Don’t know about that. .

But well, maybe you want to change the logo, but the name?
What do you think? Is this a yay or nay for our dear Hedi?
What would Saint Laurent think about this?
Share your thoughts down there!

History fact: The very first collection, Ligme Trapéze, from 1960, became an instant success. The image and logo of the house ( an anagram with the YSL initials) were delivered to the french graphic designer Cassandre in 1961 and were still used, until now.

Hey loving readers!

Yesterday was a busy Sunday, I went to the pier early in the morning for the shooting of my #videofymyfashion contest, had some ice-cream with my family and then went to the movies to see "Brave" (my sister's pick).

For a casual look, I chose this blue asymmetrical skirt I bought about two weeks ago at Shasa (a very chic store in Mexico), but the opportunity to rock it out was yesterday's plans.

I paired it with a ZARA basic black t-shirt , my new silver ZARA sandals and a belt that came with other dress I haven't showed you guys yet.

I used my slim Fossil watch and a Shasa bangle for accesories.

I had an amazing time and believe me when I tell you this, nobody could stop looking at my skirt! kind of overwhelming.

Anyway, tell me what you think!

Kisses, Bibi

Hi guys! Check out my #videofymyfashion video and like it to help me get to the top 10!

Saturday, July 21, 2012

So I’ve been thinking a lot about what to post on Fridays, you know, just to flavor things up a little bit, and I’ve come to the idea of posting the things that caught my eye and filled my heart during the week.

I know its Saturday but yesterday was a crazy day for me (that means gossip and ice cream with friends all afternoon.) Anyway, I was checking my e-mail and got this newsletter from magazine, usually I don’t read them, just whip through the pages and look at the imagery, but a lot of things caught my attention so I decided to read the magazine, and I just couldn’t have enough! Wonderful articles and photoshoots that were beyond flawless.

After a lot of reading I decided to go through my Tumblr dashboard for inspiration and I couldn’t stop noticing that a pair of sneakers in particular have became an absolute trend. Needless to say its magnificence but the comfort of these beauties makes them a must-have. Spotted on everyone, from street style icons to the front row, Isabel Marant's 'Bekket' sneakers are a fashion pack essential; this punchy pair will become your 24-hour staple.

Another thing I really enjoyed this week was taking a look at this season’s essential looks from this trend Edit-guide, because they have baroque style as a must and you all know how much I like it!

And you know I’ve been sending you to this website because of their different stylish dresses and low-priced accessories, but what if I told you they have a SALE. And some of the clothes are an absolute “no-please” or a “sorry man I have enough white socks on my drawer” but there are some attractive cool elements too.

And talking about low-priced additions to your stylish wardrobe, I recently received a message from a Tumblr follower asking me if I could check out her jewerly website. Well girl I’m sorry to tell you this but you are going to be really busy sending me all this ravishing allure! Because believe me when I tell you this, this sixteen year old girl has a hell of a talent.

I usually look at the pictures instead of actually reading the texts from the ads because I found the images marketing so much more interesting and creative, so when I heard about this dreamy fallen from the sky Elie Saab ad, I couldn’t contain myself! Because of the fact that Karlie Kloss is featured in it. We knew it was just a matter of time before Karlie Kloss popped up on some Spring 2012 fashion campaign.

Last year's breakout model shows no signs of slowing down with her gorgeous, glamorous, and grown-up shoot for Elie Saab's Spring 2012 collection.

And just for a final good taste on your mouths, look at Katie Holmes and her new hair cut, because a woman who has just had a rough time needs a change-up, and Holmes got it very right.

Have a nice weekend, kind regards.

Baroque Style

Hi There! This is Bibian!

Today I wanted to talk about the splendid trend of wearing baroque patterns. Because since I started interesting in fashion I’ve always been amazed by this kind of prints. I think it is beautiful the way the designers use this artistic style to capture their creativity and make it into something beautiful. Think gilded details, rich velvets and Renaissance-inspired prints.

The use of exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur leaves me impacted.

I’ve always been amazed by the usage of this technique in antique sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, and music, but now that designers like Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta and Donatella Versace employ this molds in to a trend-setter unique style, I am even more astonished

The opulence and pulchritude of this dressing is something that can’t be unnoticed.

History fact: This striking style started around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most of Europe.

Kind regards,
